Things that make you say "Oh No!"

I saw something yesterday, on my way home from work, that I just have to talk about today. There on 75 South, at rush hour, was a guy on a motorcycle with a girl on the back. Not uncommon, but THIS girl was in short-shorts and not much of a top at all. All I could think of was someone doing something stOOpid that would cause the motorcycle driver to wreck and most of that girl’s skin all over the freeway! It was awful! I could not get the dread out of my mind. Why are there not laws in Texas to make people wear protection; i.e., head-gear, elbow and knee pads, etc.??? Why??? After living in California where it’s against the law to not wear such protection, I just have never “gotten” it here. If I had a camera phone, you’d have seen the picture and would have been cringing with me on this one

"Ten Things", a work in progress -updated 7/21/06

List ten things you want to say to people you know but you never will, for whatever reason. Don't say who they are. Use each person only once:

This was stolen from Kami's site...dunno where she got it from, but it's SO worth doing. So far, I have only seven "things" to say, but I will add to the ultimate ten as they come to me. Here goes:

1. Believe it or not, you are not the cleverest or smartest person on the planet and everyone is not enthralled with you. I hate it when people are only my friends when they either need something or need someone to do something for them.

2. One day, you will realize that this is all of your fault and the sooner the better. Quit ball-busting me!

3. Please.Leave.Me.Alone!

4. You’re two-faced as Hell and I’m still mad at you for 6 years ago! I may try and forgive, but I never forget!

5. As Chef Gordon Ramsey would say “You’re fucking useless you donkey!”

6. I don’t know who – you think – gave you the label of “Babe Magnet”, but they lied big time! You are a twisted wretch of a person and you’re oh so annoying. Go somewhere else and get a real life, no one wants you here!

7. Some things, like my job, are best left to me & my boss to decide. Don't be telling me that I am a resource for something YOU can't get done and then start sending folks to ME!! A$$Wipe!

Tomato Canning Season Is Done!

Over the past three weekends, Fred, Paul, and I have been canning Paul's HUGE tomato crop! Here's the breakdown:

6/11/06 Tomatoes - 14 qts., tomato juice - 7 qts.
6/17/06 Tomatoes - 42 qts., tomato juice - 14 qts.
6/24/06 Tomatoe Sauce - 28 qts., 1 pint, tomato juice - 42 qts.

Today, the tomato sauce was split between three roasters - one electric on the patio and one on the stove, twice. After blanching, coring, peeling, and chopping, they were drained and put through the blender. Then into the roasters they went with all the ingredients to cook down before putting into the sterilized jars. We started with 130 cups or 32 quarts (juice drained off). To that was added and distributed 19 tsp. salt, 25 T sugar, 1 cup white vinegar, 10 cups red bell peppers, and 10 cups of onions. What a marathon! All the juice had to be processes in the canner and the sauce, after boiling down, was water bathed. We started at 9:30 yesterday morning and finished at 11 last night. We _did_ eat dinner around 6 yesterday afternoon. Talk about 3 tired people. Dammitt!!! Every jar sealed and now I have to label them all before storage. I'll bet Paul won't grow 32 plants next year! ;-) I REALLY would like to have an AGA stove with six burners and three ovens...in deep red please! Thank you!

Happy Birthday to YOU, Carole!

Today, at 9:25AM, in 1964, my beautiful daughter Carole Marcelle was born. Today, in 1964, my life changed in a big way...a way I never expected it would. Today, my very best friend entered the World and started her journey and her life. She was what I dreamed about the night of conception...to a "T", right down to her beauty mark on her face. She was supposed to be and when she came to me, I knew she would be someone special. She still is and always will be...my one and only baby. I love her with all my heart and would not trade even one moment. You have grown into such a good and loving person..a woman who now has her own wonderful and loving baby. You know now the joy, love, and pleasure that I have enjoyed since this day...in 1964. Happy Birthday to you, my daughter, my best friend, and the love of my life. Enjoy your day! I Love YOU!
